Forest Dungeon is one of the Dungeons in the game Moonlighter. It is the second dungeon, unlocked when the player beats the Golem King in the Golem Dungeon for the first time.

This dungeon contains three floors followed by the Carnivorous Mutae boss fight. Once the Carnivorous Mutae has been defeated for the first time, the Desert Dungeon will be opened to the player.

Occasionally, a single room of the Desert Dungeon may spawn, allowing players to collect some higher valued items.

Lore[ | ]

In the Forest Dungeon, there are a couple of ways to learn about the Dungeons and how they came about or what can be found in them. One is through logs found at the Hot Springs that are usually one or two levels behind the mini-boss fought to go up another level. The other is through Crazy Pete's notes found at his campsites, where he jotted down information he found out whilst adventuring before his death.

Hot Spring Logs[ | ]

We have yet to discover the perpetrator, who as of a year ago, destroyed several of our experiments. Now much of our research materials are disappearing on a daily basis.
~ Hot Spring Logs, Floor 1

We still do not know who is causing this grief. Some parts of our experimental forest continue to disappear, replaced with wrecked variants occasionally covered in green slime.
~ Hot Spring Logs, Floor 2

WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE!?! Even with our knowledge, the ones behind this are beyond us. We must focus and finish the LF1 serum. Our world depends on it.
~ Hot Spring Logs, Floor 3

Crazy Pete's Notes[ | ]

There has been a recent discovery that will change the game as we know it! These Curious Pendants have been uncovered inside the Dungeons. I just recently found one myself. It's quite a fascinating piece. Instead of fainting and losing most of your items in escaping the Dungeon, One may actually insert gold into this Pendant. The result is a portal transporting you back to town! No longer must one risk life and limb in these Dungeons! Some of the more "burly" adventurers, or Heroes, as they like to be called... Seem to frown upon the use of these Pendants... I mean... yeah... What's the point if you don't get a scar amirite?
~ Crazy Pete, Forest Notebook
More patterns and secrets! For those diving so far as the 3rd floor, have you ever felt overburdened? Carrying just too much loot? Too much TREASURE!?! But you don't want to stop? Just can't stop!?! Then have I got something for you! Hidden somewhere on the 3rd floor, between where you start and where you end. The "end" here being the massive creature at the bottom of the Dungeon. Meaning the Dungeon's "end" is more than likely YOUR "end". BUT, between those two spots one may notice a sparkle. A glimmer of something just beyond a pit of infinite darkness. If you are brave, I ask that you give it a jump. See what's down there.
