The Moonlighter

The Moonlighter is the oldest shop in all of Rynoka and is the shop that Will runs primarily during the day. Excess items that are discovered in the dungeons can be sold here for fair prices. Will can expand The Moonlighter and some of the inside elements of the shop by requesting upgrades at the Town Board.

As mentioned, Will is able to buy upgrades: for the whole shop, expanding its size (only on the inside, outside appearance remains the same at all expansions) and interior furniture (Personal Chest, Sale Box, Cash Register, and Bed). Eventually, he can also update the decor with decorations.

Starting Out[ | ]

To start with, there are four sales tables, one store chest, and one upgradeable personal chest. This can be increased with numerous upgrades from the Bulletin Board in the center of town.

Sales Table[ | ]

By interacting with any of the tables inside of The Moonlighter, an item can be placed from the inventory by selecting and moving it or using the quick move button. The price can be determined per table, so identical items can be sold for different prices.

Showcase[ | ]

These special tables are only received with the Shop Level 2 and Shop Level 3 upgrades. Showcases allow you to sell items at approximately double their normal value to Rich customers, has a chance to increase an item's popularity by 1 when a customer considers purchasing it, and will also prevent thieves from stealing whatever they hold.

Sale Box[ | ]

The sale box is a non-essential upgrade that allows 12 more stacks of items to be sold, with the caveat that all items put into it will be discounted by specific rates and their price cannot be manually adjusted. Each upgrade makes the discount percentage less steep (75% to 60% to 50%).

Customers[ | ]

Heroes Hero Shopping Icon[ | ]

Heroes are very particular in their purchases, and will only buy Weapons, Armor, or Potions. They appear from the start of the game.

Thieves Thief Shopping Icon[ | ]

Thieves will occasionally enter the store and wander around. After a little while, they will pick up an item and make a mad rush for the door. Will can intercept them with his dodge roll ability, starting a small brawl where he collects his items, depositing them back into his inventory, and the offending customer will leave the store. It is possible for the same thief to return multiple times on the same day, however. If you fail to catch them in time, they will leave with the items. They will only appear after buying the first shop upgrade with multiple different appearances.

Rich Rich Shopping Icon[ | ]

Rich people don't care as much about prices and will buy items for higher than their perfect price. The prices they pay are not reflected in the Merchant Notebook. They will only appear after buying the first shop upgrade.

Alert Alert Icon[ | ]

As of the Between Dimensions update, this appears over the head of customers when a bird enters the Moonlighter. They will stop moving, and the player will not be able to interact with them until the bird has been chased off. Thieves will not be affected by this, so watch out while chasing down the bird! This will only occur after the fourth shop upgrade.

Shop Chests[ | ]

There are two types of chests in The Moonlighter, stored in Will's home side of the shop. The one on the right is Will's personal chest, which can be expanded up to three times with the Chest upgrades. On the left are the shop chests; items returned home through curses and the secret room chest will appear inside these, starting at the top chest and working down. Additional shop chests can be acquired through the Shop upgrades.
